Jelena Jaric, Le Sallay History teacher, who is currently working towards her DPhil in Archaeology at the University of Oxford, has recently taken part in the LABedia conference where she presented the findings of her research on the Roman economy in the Balkans: examples and future considerations. The conference wrapped up the project "The Late Antique Encyclopaedia" for which Jelena has for the last four years been the national representative for her own country, Macedonia.
Between 2018 and 2022, Jelena was part of a team of Balkan scholars who did some amazing work, including organizing several scientific conferences on Late Antiquity, publishing volume 1 of the ANNALES BALCANICI: Creation of the late antique world in the Balkans, and of course, building an open-access digital encyclopaedia LABedia that focuses on the history of the Balkans in the period of Late Antiquity. The encyclopaedia has a wide thematic and chronological scope and covers political, religious, social and cultural processes, which take place in Southeast Europe from 2nd to 7th c. AD.
