Jelena Jarić
Teacher of History

Jelena Jarić has a BA in Archaeology and an MA in Medieval Studies from Central European University. From 2010 to 2014 she taught undergraduate courses at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje, Macedonia and curated the University’s archaeological collections. Currently she is working on her DPhil in Archaeology at the University of Oxford. Jelena’s research focuses on the late antique urbanisation in the Mediterranean, especially on the religious, social, political, and economic changes observable in the cityscapes of the Balkans. For the past three years, she had been teaching art, history, geography and social studies to middle- and highschool-aged students. Jelena lives in Skopje with her partner Laze, a very chubby puppy named Oscar, and two very spoiled cats, Masha and Luis. Jelena is a big fan of Star Trek and Star Wars, an amateur painter, and an avid reader of epic fantasy, steampunk, and magical realism literature.
